Way to go, Cosmo!

I love Cosmo - truly. It's my guilty pleasure. I love reading the silly articles and the informative ones as well. I think I'm going to write in to Cosmo because this month THEY HAVE A BLURB ABOUT PCOS!!! I'm super excited about this because so many women .... and teens .... read this magazine! I'd love for them to do a full story on PCOS but this 9-12 sentence blurb was rather effective! Especially the last sentence!

Cyster Gifts from my Polish Cyster

I got a surprise package in the mail today from my Polish Cyster, Jen!

What a wonderful surprise! It's a Hello Kitty Sandwich holder and another round container for my fruit! This was much appreciated as I've had a gain [I truly blame stress] - I'm on the right track now and already down 1.5lbs from the 7 [ugh!] I gained!

Determination is key

This blog truly shows a journey. I encourage you to take some time and read from the beginning up until present day. This journal served as a public release for me - a place to post about my faith, infertility, and pcos. In March of 2011, I discovered that after five years of heart wrenching infertility... we were pregnant. Our son arrived healthy and perfect on 11/7/11. He is our miracle. But we will never forget the journey that brought us here.

When Elliot was about 12 weeks old, my thyroid decided to have a mood swing. I went from being diagnosed with the condition of Hypothyroidism to the disease of Hashimoto's AutoImmune Thyroiditis. I was told that I would probably only have one child, and I was completely fine with this! And THEN.... on January 18th of 2015 ....
I discovered I was PREGNANT! Nora Mae was born on 9/21/15. To be told that I'd never have children and to go on to have two completely healthy babies is something I never take for granted. My children are super close and we pray for Mommy's longing and Mommy's mourning. I do not keep past struggles of infertility a secret.

I would also like to note that it IS possible to be a plus sized woman with PCOS and have a perfectly healthy pregnancy with perfect children. I am proof of this, as are my kids. Both children were conceived naturally and I did not have any major health issues (pre-eclampsia, low birth weights, diabetes) with either pregnancy.

In this blog you will find a wide variety of posts regarding my health, latest research, faith, etc... it truly is a mix!

To all my cysters near and far, known and unknown... never give up. And when all else fails - get angry! It seemed to work for us. I'm here to help. Remember, we may have PCOS but it does NOT have us.

NOTE: All items posted are from credible resources, including from the mouths of leading experts. I attend as many PCOS events as I can which includes the PCOS Symposium which met in April 2016.
